Our Song in MTV's Catfish: The TV Show
We saw the movie Catfish a few months back while we were staying at a rental in San Francisco for a gig. We thought it was going to be some sort of crazy thriller, but it turned out to be more of a scripted (?) documentary. Basically it's the story of how easy it is to create a false persona on the internet, and it's told through the main character's own investigation in his red-flag-ridden web based romance. Fast forward a few months, and the people who made the movie have signed off to do a show on MTV, called Catfish: The TV Show doing the same thing for people who are in similar cyber situations.
The results are either extremely satisfying, or extremely depressing.
Now in it's second season, it seems like this formula could potentially work for as long as people seek love on the internet.
